SCHOLARSHIP

The research at theAIRnet builds on its substantial recognition within academia; for example, in 2010 Lazonick’s book Sustainable Prosperity in the New Economy? Business Organization and High-Tech Employment in the United States won the International Schumpeter Prize. Our reseachers have been successful in publishing articles and opinion pieces in major outlets that have reached a broader audience of informed citizens. Especially prominent has been Lazonick’s Harvard Business Review article “Profits Without Prosperity: Stock Buybacks Manipulate the Market and Leave Most Americans Worse Off,” which won the HBR-McKinsey Award for outstanding article in that magazine in 2014. AIR scholars are regularly cited in New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Forbes, and The Atlantic, among many other media outlets.
