Martin Kenney is a Professor at the University of California, Davis and a Senior Project Director at the Berkeley Roundtable on the International Economy. He has published or edited six books and over 140 scholarly articles on university-industry relations, venture capital, Silicon Valley, and entrepreneurship in the U.S. and Asia. His first book Biotechnology: The University-Industrial Complex was published by Yale University Press. His three recent edited books Public Universities and Regional Development: Insights from the University of California System (with D. Mowery), Understanding Silicon Valley, and Locating Global Advantage were published by Stanford University Press where he is the editor of a book series in innovation and globalization. He has been a visiting scholar at the Cambridge University, Copenhagen Business School, Hitotsubashi University, Kobe University, Stanford University, and Tokyo University. In 2012 he was appointed as a Senior Advisor at the Economic Institute of Finnish Economy. His research has been supported by the NSF, Sloan Foundation, Matsushita International Foundation, and the Kauffman Foundation. He is a receiving editor at Research Policy.
